NOEL J. DAHLKE

Lieutenant Commander Noel J. Dahlke joined the faculty at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in February 2008 after completing a three-year tour with Sea Control Squadron THREE ONE based at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida.  During that time, Lt. Cmdr. Dahlke deployed aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) with Carrier Air Wing NINE spending seven and a half months forward deployed supporting Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and several major exercises to include Valiant Shield 2007.

In 1994, Lt. Cmdr. Dahlke entered flight training at NAS Pensacola, Florida, earning his wings of gold as a Naval Flight Officer.  He has logged over 2,200 S-3B Viking flight hours and 610 carrier arrested landings.  Lt. Cmdr. Dahlke completed two extended six-month deployments to the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, and Persian Gulf assigned to Sea Control Squadron TWO ONE (VS-21) "Redtails" embarked on USS Independence (CV 62) and USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63).  In June 2000, he joined S-3B Fleet Replacement Squadron, VS-41 "Shamrocks" at NAS North Island, California, as flight instructor and curriculum model manager.  In 2002, Lt. Cmdr. Dahlke served on the staff of Commander Carrier Strike Group SEVEN as the Strike Operations Officer deploying aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  He then attended the Naval Postgraduate School at Monterey, California, and graduated in June 2005.  From 2005 to 2008, Lt. Cmdr. Dahlke completed his Department Head tour with Sea Control Squadron THREE ONE (VS-31) “Topcats.”   

Lt. Cmdr. Dahlke graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance (1994).  He holds a Masters in Business Administration from Naval Postgraduate School Monterey, California (2005).  He also earned his Joint Professional Military Education Phase I from the Naval War College distant learning program.  He is a graduate of the APCSS Advanced Security Cooperation Course 08-1.  Awards and decorations include “Senior Naval Flight Officer of the Year-2007” for the      S-3B Viking community, two Navy Commendation Medals, two Navy Achievement Medals and various theater deployment and service medals and ribbons.
