Major Bryan Greenstein, a
Korea and Northeast Asia regional affairs strategist and career air

Security Studies in January 2007. He is currently serving as Manager
of the APCSS Trends Analysis Program which is focused on
identifying, tracking, and reporting on non-defense related trends
of interest in the Asia-Pacific region with potential strategic
security implications. He has served in a variety of international
affairs, command and control, and intelligence operations and staff
positions at the squadron, group, wing, and unified combatant
command levels.
Highly proficient in the Korean
language, he completed his intermediate developmental education as
an exchange student in the Republic of Korea Air Force’s Command and
Staff Course, Korea Air Force University, Daejon, Korea, from August
2005 to December 2006. In preparation for the course, he attended
the Defense Language Institute's Intermediate Korean Language

From September 2002 to July 2004,
while assigned to the 544th Information Operations Group, Air Combat

as Director of Operations and Executive Officer, ensuring that eight
subordinate units worldwide had the operational oversight and
guidance required to provide unique space-related intelligence
support to Air Force Space Command’s space control mission, national
decision-makers and combatant commanders.
From January 1999 to July 2001, he
was selected to serve as an Intelligence Foreign Relations Officer
on the U.S. Pacific Command J2 staff where he managed operational
intelligence relationships with seven key countries in theater,
linking J2 initiatives with broader strategic theater engagement
objectives. Also in Hawaii, while assigned to the U.S. Pacific Air
Force Air Intelligence Squadron, Hickam AFB, from January 1997 to
January 1999, he served as Commander, Threat Analysis Flight and
Plans and Readiness Flight. In 1996, he completed U.S. Air Force
intelligence officer training, graduating at the top of his class.
Maj. Greenstein’s first assignment
was to the 355th Wing, Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, where he served
as an Emergency Actions Officer from August 1993 to April 1996,
coordinating emergency response actions for the Wing Commander. He
earned his commission in July 1993 as a Distinguished Graduate of
the U.S. Air Force’s Officer Training School, Lackland AFB, San
Antonio, Texas.
He graduated summa cum laude from
Florida International University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
international relations and holds a Master of Science of strategic
intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College,
